Jedi Knight II
Welcome. This is my little reference guide on how to effectively
kill things in Jedi Knight. Is this the definitive guide?
No. Am I and expert? No, but I think I'm pretty good.
Did I find all these moves myself? No. I found most on the
net. I've just given them names and put the ones I like best at the
top.
The purpose here is not to show you all the combo moves in the
game. It would probably serve you better to pick some good moves you
like and get good at them. That's what this list is for. This
is my list of things I do that effectively kill bots and friends. If
you want a more complete list, just go to google and look for them.
Anyway... Enjoy.

The Skewer and Throw |
You stab through the opponent's lower
area then tear your saber upwards. A square hit is very
damaging. A killing blow will usually throw them over your
head. (They'll land behind you and crumple to the ground.) |
| From quick saber stance
(blue) - Crouch. Forward + Attack to skewer and toss over head. |
| 3 |
The Annoying Squirrel |
Roll to catch fleeing opponents, cover
ground, and do a little damage. When you roll, you move
faster, and your saber sticks out and nicks nearby targets. |
| While running forward - Tap
Crouch to execute one roll and continue running. |

The Cheap Shot |
Knock them down (push, saber lock, or
kick) then throw your saber at them until they get ready again. If you're quick enough, you can usually do some massive damage
before they get their defenses back up. They key is speed. |
| Knock over opponent and
quickly aim and right click (with saber selected). |

The Human Cannon Ball |
Use Grip to pick them up, then Push to
hurl them. Very effective when used with cliffs. This
will throw them VERY far. |
| Force Grip till
they are at about a 60 degree angle to you. Release + Force
Push to launch them. |

Jumping Death Knell |
A cool looking, very damaging maneuver
done from the slow (purple) saber stance. It's only downside
is aiming it. It is not an easy one to land squarely. |
| From slow stance - Jump + Forward +
Attack. |
| 3 |
Boot to the Head |
In true matrix form, run to the enemy,
and do a back flip off them, kicking them in the head and knocking
them down. (Follow with a saber throw.) Note: This
one doesn't seem to work in the latest patch. |
| Run and tap Jump
when you reach them. As if you were back flipping off a wall. |
| 3 |
Short Saber Throw |
When in Melee, try using a Saber Throw at
0 range. It'll often go right past their saber and smack
them. Just make sure they're not right in the middle of
kicking your trash as this move will drop your defenses for a
moment. |
| At very close range, Alt
Fire your saber at them. |
| 2 |
Sentry Gun Offense |
This is a cheap trick, but sometimes hard
to use. As soon as you're about to get in a fight (saber),
drop a sentry gun. This by itself will do wonders. But
if you force grip them and hold them over it, it'll kill them very
quickly. |
| Drop Sentry Gun in
Fight. Add a force grip for extra annoyance. |
Nifty moves:
1. Run and Strafe next to a wall, then press and hold jump to turn sideways
and run up it.
2. Strafe and just as you release the strafe button, tap jump to
dive sideways. Not very effective for much, but looks neat.
To kill a Jedi:
To take out a Jedi with no saber...
1. Always keep some distance.
2. Either spray them with rapid fire (black Storm Trooper Gun) or hit them with something heavy.
3. If they get close to you, run. (Or whip out your thang' and go Yoda
on them.)
4. Sniping is your friend.
General things to keep in mind:
1. Always keep your health and shields up above 80. When you get a bit low, ditch the
hunt and toughen up. You'll last a lot longer. In an even fight, he with the most health/shields wins.
Heal items and Force Heal are good, but don't underestimate shields.
2. Never let them get the high ground. (Small ledge, stairs, etc...)
3. Keep them between you and the cliff.
4. If they ever do something you don't like (grip, shock, saber) push them down.
5. Fight dirty.
Take the high ground.
Hurl them off cliffs.
Overwhelm them (if playing on a team. 2 on 1 is very good.)
6. Keep you finger on the Sight key, just in case they go invisible.
7. Sentry guns explode when they run out of power. If you see one and you aren't under
attack from anyone, just let it shoot your saber for about 10 seconds. Then it'll blow up.
8. When fighting multiple targets, keep them all in front of you.
9. Always face your opponent, even when running. You can block
attacks that way. And even bounce them back at them (in the case of
smaller weapons.)
10. Don't just go berserk. If you always face your enemy (and
they're using something you can block) you're very safe. You can
wait for an opening and strike. (i.e. When they start to raise
their saber over their head, slash them.... If you're a quick
stance. Timing is even more critical with the slow 'purple' stance.)
11. You can force push projectile type weapons. Rockets,
Flack, Det Packs, Grenades, etc...
Best things to remember:
Pick a few good moves and get good at them... Like tossing people, hitting while they're down, a few good saber moves, etc...
Push and Vision are your friend.
When dueling, know when to advance and strike, and when to move back and defend.
(Practice.)
